Designing a dream space
“Choosing a color was the hardest part. But luckily I was choosing counters for our home and one of our rental properties at the same time, so once I narrowed it down to two I used one in each! Amy in the Bend office was incredibly helpful making suggestions for different sized spaces and lighting situations. I have always wanted white countertops, and that’s what we went with for our house. I love love love them!”

The biggest challenge
“Understand your lighting situation and your cabinet color before choosing. Materials look different in a show room vs a home so it’s important to look at lots of different samples and know the decisions you’re making for the rest of the space and how they go together. You can’t ever go wrong with a neutral, but be careful of going too bold or different and not timeless and classic.”
A space to gather
“We have always wanted a large kitchen where we could cook and entertain friends and family and have a place for everyone to gather. Growing up, my dad and stepmom always entertained and had a kitchen full of guests and wonderful food. I wanted a space where we could create the same environment and host lots of friends and family. We have started a tradition of hosting Thanksgiving, and we plan to host Christmas this year. The kitchen plays a huge role in our ability to do that and we look forward to the many memories we will make in the space.”
